Official Launching of Learning Ladders Society

Syukur Alhamdulillah, Learning Ladders finally had its official launching on 22 May 2008 at Empire Theatre, The Empire Hotel & Country Club and this event was made even more special, graced by the attendance of Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah.

Our thanks also go out to the distinguished guests, other NGO's and all the guests that attended our event.

Thank you to ALL the generous sponsors who made this event possible:

A BIG thank you also goes out to all the dedicated parent members, support members (family, friends and therapists) and wonderful student volunteers ( a very mature, reliable, dependable and responsible bunch of young people) from Sekolah Menengah Berakas, PTE Berakas and IB students from ISB.

When Learning Ladders first started with its 3 founding members, never before have they ever imagined that within a year its number has grown quite rapidly and this event further shows the true dedication and spirit of the Bruneian community regardless of age, race, stature and religion in helping Autistic children progress in Brunei.

As stated in Sharina's opening speech and as something we cannot stress enough, Learning Ladders Society is only another option for autism parents out there to explore. We are not here to replace or compete with any other organisation that deals with children with ASD and developmental disabilities. With the rising numbers of children being affected by ASD, it is timely that another society be established to help complement existing providers and in fact, we hope that there will be other organisations set up offering other types of intervention therapies for children with ASD as we all know not all ASD children are alike, so one can benefit from a different type of therapy than another.

Finally, to ALL Learning Ladders children, our deepest and most heartfelt thank you, because without all you brave, wonderful and extremely bright children Learning Ladders would not have been founded and all the adults in Learning Ladders would not have found each other and progressed to this new family called LEARNING LADDERS.
